iPhones now have a much bigger storage capacity, meaning that they can be great for storing data. There is currently an app available called ‘iPhoneDrive’. The app allows you to use your iPhone as a mass storage device, making it appear in Finder. Just like you would with an external hard drive or USB stick, you will be able to drag and drop files in and out of the finder window, and store important files on your iPhone without affecting software or any other files on the device.
In the iPhoneDrive window, you can also click ‘copy to iPhone’ to save dragging and dropping files which you might not be able to find. It’s really simple to use.
It should be noted, however, that photographs and music on your iPhone will not be accessible using Finder, so it’s not worth purchasing the app if you are trying to drag music off the device and onto your computer.
